Fairytale Moments by photographer Leslie St. John
Wedding photography, to me is certainly not about staged poses,it's more about telling a story, and that one chance to capture your very special day. Finding a photographer who is truly able to master that task is rare. Leslie makes me want to do my wedding all over again....his ability to tell a wedding story, is like none other. Read more about him and check out his work at www.lesliestjohn.com
Leslie St. John is a Barbadian photographer. Starting photography as a teenager, he decided to get a "real job" and went on pursue a career in Marketing and Advertising. Having worked in several industries he never forgot his love for the craft and art of photography. Eventually after growing tired of having no answer to the question why he was not a professional photographer, he took the decision to follow his true calling and become one.
Leslie has won multiple awards at the Barbados National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) including the coveted Perce Tappin Award for Best in Show in 1987. He has had the privilege photographing HRH Princess Margaret on one of her visits to Barbados and of having one of his photographs reproduced on a postage stamp for the island of Grenada.
He has photographed fashion shows for noted Barbadian designer Derek Went, a number of weddings including the unconventional wedding, and brings a new creative vision where others see only the day to day.
His influences range from Henri Cartier Bresson who advocated capturing the "decisive moment" to noted landscape photographer Ansel Adams.
